We were meant to be meeting everyone else at about seven on the King's Road, unfortunately the earliest a five seater taxi could get to us was eight. We figured it wouldn't cost us that much and should get us there quicker.
It was only after sitting in the taxi for half an hour and during a lull in the banter I realised we'd only made it about a mile from our house. The traffic hadn't been moving. We asked to get out at the nearest tube station, the half hour journey to the end of my road ended up costing us £20. Tew and everyone was already in the pub and we were still two tubes and a good walk away, feeling somewhat guilty I suggested we pick the pace up a bit.
After a mad dash through a couple of underground stations we finally made it to the Chelsea Potters, only a couple of hours late.
