It was the first time Dave, Tew, Lynn, Jam and Becky had met Rob, Cosmo, Rachel and Nina. It was also the first time I'd met Becky after not quite managing to at Dave's birthday a couple of weeks earlier. Cosmo bailed out quite early on, something about his house being on fire, personally I think he needs to sort his priorities out! After a spot of Banter we moved on to another pub, and then on to Purple Nightclub.
The Nightclub was at Chelsea football ground, whether or not it was this that inspired Rob's choice of dress for the evening I'm not sure. He turned up looking like a footballer on Cup Final day. Once in the club he disappeared and returned regularly to seek Dave and Tew's advice on finding himself a suitable lady. Their advice seemed to consist mainly of slightly adjusting his tie and sending him on his way. One time he seemed to have been gone for a little longer than usual, turned out he'd gone to the loo and then couldn't find us. This might be easily done were we not all stood next to the loo, where we'd been all evening. Concerned I rushed to the bar and ordered a coke, this I substituted for Roberts vodka and coke without him noticing. Just as well he's got such a concerned friend looking out for him. Such a concerned, thirsty, impoverished friend. Well, at eight pounds a drink I could hardly waste it could I.
